O conceito de jogo sofreu alterações ao longo do tempo. Os tradicionais jogos de tabuleiro, desportivos, entre outros tomaram um nova forma com a associação da interactividade, as interfaces, e, de certa forma, com o quotidiano. De geração para geração este conceito toma novas definições.
Desta forma, no âmbito do Mestrado em Tecnologia e Arte Digital da Universidade do Minho, surge uma reformulação desse jogo associado ao convívio, tentado reproduzir o efeito imersivo que o jogo tradicional possuí através da utilização de dispositivos Android que comunicam via OSC com o ambiente virtual.
Batizámo-lo de "Matrecos", de acordo com o calão português.

The concept of games has changed throughout the years. Traditional board games, sports, and others have taken a new form with the combination of interactivity, interfaces, and, somehow, with the everyday life. From generation to generation, the game concept takes on new definitions.
Thus, within the scope of the Technology and Digital Art Masters Degree, at the University of Minho, we made a social game recasting - fussball - trying to reproduce the immersive effect that this traditional game delivers, by using Android devices which communicate with the virtual environment through OSC.
We named it "Matrecos", like the portuguese slang word that refers to this game.
